eBay Anything Points are like the prize tickets you can win at some video game parlors; get 1,000 tickets, for instance, and you can exchange them at the front desk for an oversized plastic novelty comb. The difference, of course, is that you can use Anything Points to buy stuff on eBay.
As an incentive to your buyers, you can offer Anything Points with your purchases. The catch is that you have to pay for them. Log in to the Anything Points Offer Manager and activate the program for any or all of your currently running listings. Points cost one cent each, and are purchased on a per-dollar basis, relative to the closing costs of your listings. For instance, if you’re offering 2 points per dollar, and an listing closes at a final price of $25.00, your bidder will be awarded 50 Anything Points at a cost of 50 cents to you.
The point of programs like this is that you offer incentives to your customers without lowering your prices. Of course, lower prices are another great incentive for buyers, so the choice is up to you. And if you like the idea of offering Anything Points with your purchases, you can always offset the cost by raising your prices (in this case, by at least 2%). – For your success. from: David Karp
